Ramos Consulting, LLC seeks an energetic, highly motivated, detail-oriented, self-starter to join our Austin, TX staff as a Transportation Engineer. This position will be located full-time at our Austin Office.

Typical duties and responsibilities of this position are:


Support procurement team and managers with:

  • Preliminary engineering

  • Final engineering (design)

    • Horizontal and vertical alignments

    • Signing and striping

    • Utility layouts and traffic control plans

    • Quantify roadway bid items for cost development

    • Develop cost estimates based on roadway design and quantified elements

    • Support project manager in writing contract documents

  • Cost estimates

  • Design review

  • Plan set development and assembly

  • CPM scheduling (primavera and MS Projects)

  • Construction reporting

  • Supporting a GEC contract

  • Occasionally travels out of town for project meetings, field investigations and data collection and to collaborate with project team members in other Texas offices.


The appropriately qualified candidate MUST have the following core competencies, qualifications and required experience:

  • Licensed Professional Engineer in the State of Texas, or be licensed in another state with the ability to be licensed in Texas within 6-months

  • TxDOT experience

  • B.S. or M.S. in Civil Engineering with 4 to 8 years of transportation experience

  • Experience working in a GEC environment

  • Good technical writing, computer, and communication skills

  • Proficient in Microstation, OpenRoads, GEOPAK, Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint a plus

  • Must have a valid driver’s license and be able to travel out-of-town for occasional project meetings, to perform field data collection and to conduct field investigations.
